EU law - according to the Ministry of Agriculture - excludes the possibility of introducing at the national level the changes demanded by farmers regarding the re-occupation of livestock buildings after the elimination of a contagious disease outbreak. In the case described, the agricultural self-government pointed out the problem that farmers face when their farms are affected by officially controlled contagious animal diseases. The issue is that the administrative process related to the re-occupation of livestock buildings unnecessarily extends. As a result, these buildings remain unused for a long time, which generates tangible financial losses for farmers. Therefore, the self-government called for changes in this regard.
