[Korean Farmers' News Reporter Jo Young-gyu] The climate crisis is deepening. Over the past 30 years (1991-2020), the average annual temperature in our country has risen by approximately 1.6℃ compared to the previous 30 years (1912-1940). This has led to changes in crop cultivation periods and the spread of plant diseases and pests. This means that predictable agriculture is becoming increasingly difficult. Furthermore, due to the aging population, the agricultural workforce is also decreasing. In response to these crises, Daedong announced the vision of becoming a "leading company in future agriculture" in 2020 and is focusing on "AI-based agriculture." As part of this initiative, the commercialization of precision agriculture services began this year.
