The Federation of Rice Growers Associations of Rio Grande do Sul (Federarroz) evaluated positively the announcement by the National Supply Company (Conab) of R$ 300 million to help provide liquidity to the rice market. The entity met on Wednesday (22) with the president of Conab, Edegar Pretto. "It was a productive meeting, where we showed the need, especially for the marketing premium, to help with this activity and also to enable better remuneration. And the Federal Government Acquisitions (AGFs) also come to assist the producer in establishing minimum prices," said in a statement the president of Federarroz, Denis Nunes. The aid package from Conab includes auctions of the Product Marketing Premium (PEP), Equalizing Premium Paid to the Rural Producer (Pepro), and Federal Government Acquisitions (AGF), instruments that can be activated when the market price of an agricultural product falls below the minimum price set by the federal government.
