Togo has inaugurated its first fruit and vegetable processing plant in Tsevie, with the plant set to primarily produce tomato paste and pineapple juice. The initiative was led by a fund supporting young people's start-ups and financially and technically backed by the GIZ program for sustainable economic development. Togo has seen a significant increase in fruit and vegetable exports to both the European Union and West African countries over the past decade, with a particular focus on pineapple exports.
