The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks) has expressed concern over the increasing rate of fish poaching in Lake Kariba, especially in protected areas. This activity is worsening the situation at Matusadona National Park, which also safeguards a portion of the lake. The poachers, who have become more audacious and dangerous, are primarily targeting the Zimbabwean side of the lake due to its superior conservation methods and higher fish yield, leading to the death of two rangers last year and recent abductions.
