Egypt achieves 85% self-sufficiency in fish production, with a variety of fish available at different price ranges. The country's production includes 400 thousand tons from natural fisheries and 2 million tons annually, of which 79.7% is contributed by fish farms. The government is working to increase export rates and improve lake development, including Manzala, Burullus, Mariout, and Bardawil, as stated by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics and Sayed El-Quseir, the former Minister of Agriculture.
