Fishermen in the Eastern Black Sea region of Turkey have been experiencing a successful October due to an abundant catch of bonito. The density of purse seines and boats, as well as participation from various provinces, highlights the intense fishing activity. Ahmet Mutlu, President of the Eastern Black Sea Fisheries Cooperatives Regional Union, notes that the catch has surpassed expectations and believes that the size of the bonito has been increasing daily. Muammer Akbaş, a fisherman, comments on the non-stop nature of the hunting, stating that it requires around 3-5 hours of rest between working days and nights. Despite the challenges of the large number of boats and the demanding work, Cengiz Çetinkaya remains optimistic about the season, indicating that it is making good progress.
