Deputy Minister of Trade, Jerry Sambuga, has announced a USD 500 thousand export of crab to Canada, highlighting the resilience of Indonesian marine fisheries and fishery products exports during the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2021, these exports reached a value of USD 4.06 billion, a 6.92% increase from the previous year, with frozen shrimp being the top export. The United States, China, and Japan were the leading destination countries. The Ministry of Trade is encouraging SMEs in East Java, where PT Aruna Jawa Nuswantara is located, to strengthen their research and export capabilities to contribute to economic growth.
