Argentina's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has announced a new decree, Decree 754/2021, aimed at boosting the export of fully processed fish and seafood products. The decree reduces or eliminates export duties for common hake, shrimp, squid, and other seafood products, and also provides a lower export tariff for products processed by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MiPyMEs). The initiative seeks to encourage more value addition and employment in the fishing sector by providing a fairer tax treatment to companies that perform all processing activities in Argentina. The decree is endorsed by President Alberto Fernández and several other ministers, highlighting the government's commitment to supporting the fishing industry and promoting local economic development.
