Poland's Chief Veterinary Officer has reported five new outbreaks of Newcastle disease on poultry farms, with the latest cases identified between 13 and 22 December 2024. The outbreaks were confirmed by the National Veterinary Institute and are located in the Podlaskie and Mazowieckie provinces. The affected farms range in size from 31,973 to 447,218 slaughter hens. In response, all necessary measures to eliminate the outbreaks have been implemented, including the culling of the infected birds, cleaning, disinfection, and in some cases, the establishment of restricted areas around the affected farms.
