Belgium: Flemish potato area increases by more than 4%

The provisional figures of the Flemish aggregate demand show an increase in the acreage for consumption potatoes in Flanders. The counter stands at 51,708 ha (+4.2%). This is reported by the Belgian Test Center for Potato Cultivation (PCA). Presumably the increased contract prices were an incentive to continue with potatoes. After all, when the contracts were signed in January, there was no indication that the cost price would increase significantly in 2022
