China's food industry experienced steady growth in 2021, with value-added industrial output rising by 7.7% for agricultural and sideline food processing, and by 8% for food manufacturing. The wine, beverage, and refined tea manufacturing sector saw the highest growth at 10.6%. Retail sales of grain, oil, and food reached 1.68 trillion yuan, up 10.8% year on year, and sales of beverages, alcohol, and tobacco grew by 20.4% and 21.2% respectively. By the first 10 months of 2021, food enterprises with an annual operating revenue of at least 20 million yuan generated profits of 475.7 billion yuan, marking a 4% increase year on year.
