In response to allegations of food poisoning from seafood in Port Dickson, the Negeri Sembilan Fisheries Department has initiated an investigation by collecting mussel and seawater samples. This action follows reports of several individuals experiencing food poisoning symptoms after consuming mussels and cockles, prompting the Telok Kemang Fishermen’s Association to temporarily halt the sale and consumption of these seafood items. The Negeri Sembilan State Health Department confirmed eight cases of food poisoning linked to mussel consumption, with two individuals requiring ICU admission. Symptoms reported include headaches, numbness, muscle weakness, and in severe cases, paralysis, with the affected seafood traced back to two markets in Port Dickson.
