Ukrainians should prepare for the rise in vegetable, berry, and fruit prices by the end of summer, as spring frosts have significantly reduced the yield of several crops. This was reported by Lviv Department of Agro-Industrial Development Director Lyudmyla Honcharenko. Early vegetables, rapeseed, and especially the berry-fruit group, including currants, blueberries, cherries, plums, and sweet cherries, were most severely affected by the weather. It is noted that the yield of the berry-fruit group will decrease by an average of 20-22%, which will impact prices, raising them by 20-30%. For farmers who planted zucchini, potatoes, and beets, losses are estimated at 10-20%, so prices will rise this summer. The overall picture in the food market looks pessimistic.
