The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in China has reported a case of foot-and-mouth disease in pigs at a slaughterhouse in Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Ten pigs on a truck were found to be sick, leading to an immediate response from local authorities who carried out slaughter, cleaning, disinfection, and harmless treatment in accordance with protocols. The epidemic is now under control and there has been no spread or secondary pollution.
