Peru: Foreign shipments of ginger and turmeric fall by 44% until week 34 of the year

(Agraria.pe) Up to week 34 of this year, Peru has exported 26,480 tons of ginger and turmeric for a FOB value of US$ 51,604,559. This result marks a fall of -44% compared to last year in the same period, reveals a report by Fresh Cargo Peru. The document states that the main market is North America, which concentrates 61% of Peruvian shipments, but which shows a fall of -32% compared to last year. In value, placements totaled US$ 33,100,600. The second most important market is Europe, which has 38% of the share, but also shows a fall, in this case of -57% compared to the previous year. In this case, the monetary value is US$ 17,813,546. In third place is Latin America, with a share of Peruvian shipments of 2% (growth of 106% compared to last year) and a value of US$ 634,070.
