[Korean Farmers and Fishermen Newspaper Reporter Kang-san Lee] Former Jeonnam Provincial Assemblyman Seong-jae Park (Together Democratic Party·Haenam 2) argued during the examination of the "2026 Agricultural and Fisheries Food National Budget Proposal" at the 395th Regular Meeting of the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Committee that "the farmland-based improvement project should now move beyond the method of drainage channel improvement and proceed to the level of land consolidation through land re-survey." Park pointed out, "For the efficiency and mechanization of farming operations in dry fields, the improvement of the farmland base must be well done, but the current project is limited to residential facilities and the work on drainage channels in some areas rather than farmland." He continued, "Just as mechanization progressed rapidly after the consolidation of paddy fields in the past, efficient farming in dry fields can also be achieved."
