France and Japan have signed an agreement to guarantee French exports of pork and offal in the face of the risk of introducing African Swine Fever. This agreement, which came into effect immediately, marks the culmination of seven years of negotiations between the health authorities of the two countries. The objective of this agreement is to guarantee French exports of pork and offal to Japan. It stipulates that, in the event of an outbreak of African Swine Fever in French territory, exports may be resumed as soon as the French regulated zones are defined and recognized by the European Commission, and after Japan adopts its own administrative decision based on this update.
