France: Additional help for policyholders

The Ministry of Agriculture announces the establishment of an additional compensation scheme for the benefit of farmers who suffered from the frost that occurred in April 2021, resulting in a loss of more than 30% of the guaranteed yield for eligible crops, namely sugar beets , rapeseed, flax, hops (and seeds of its species), fruits and berries, wine grapes and table grapes. The envelope of 63 million euros is equivalent to a redemption of up to 2.5 capital points for wine and table grapes and field crops, and 10 points for arboriculture and small fruits. The procedure is open on a dedicated FranceAgriMer site until May 6 at 2 p.m. The measure applies to farms that have taken out, for the 2021 harvest, a multi-risk climate insurance contract on harvest, or a single-risk hail/storm contract with a frost extension, for at least one of the affected crops eligible for this scheme.
