The 2021 strawberry season in France saw stable area (4,000 ha) and yield (76,000 tons) compared to the previous year, despite high summer temperatures affecting the quality and extending the harvest season. The start of the 2022 season was delayed, leading to increased prices due to low supply, which later recovered with the arrival of Spanish strawberries and a surge in imports, resulting in prices being higher than the average of the past five years in July 2022. However, the trade deficit continued to grow, increasing by 4% year on year.
