The United States is the primary destination for Peruvian mango exports, with 40% of the country's production sent to the United States in the last campaign. It is a constantly growing market, due in part to the work of the National Mango Board (NMB) in promoting and increasing fresh mango consumption in the Uncle Sam's country. Leonardo Ortega, Director of Research and Industry Relations at NMB, reported that Peru ranked third among mango exporting countries to the United States in 2024, behind Mexico and Ecuador, due to setbacks caused by weather issues. He noted that Peru was in second place in 2022 and 2023 and anticipates recovering this position this year, maintaining its strategic importance in this market and competing directly with providers like Brazil, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic.
