A new free trade agreement between China and Serbia will be implemented on July 1, with China planning to increase its imports of high-quality Serbian agricultural products, specifically fresh blueberries. This follows a state visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Serbia. The agreement marks blueberries as the second fresh fruit from Serbia to be allowed in the Chinese market, after apples. Serbia, a major European blueberry producer, will need to adhere to strict export requirements, including good agricultural practices, integrated pest management, and cold treatment during shipment or transit, to meet China's quarantine standards.
