Pork imports continue to grow and accumulate a very significant increase for the year, especially for cuts more in demand in the local market such as bondiola. "In November, imports decreased by 4.7% compared to October and increased by 4.2% when compared to November 2024. So far this year, we have reached 49,729 tons, a volume 157% higher than last year and there is still a month left," analyzed consultant Juan Uccelli. Imports of pork cuts, especially bondiolas from Brazil, limit the possibility for producers to capture better prices for their animals, although they do not necessarily contain the values on the shelves.
