Ukraine is set to begin demonstration plantings of cotton this year, with plans to start large-scale cultivation by 2025, as announced by Stepan Chernyavskyi, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy. This initiative, which is being supported by international companies like 'BAER', 'BASF', MeyAgro TukhumSuluk and Corteva Agriscence who will provide cotton seeds for free, is aimed at revitalizing Ukraine's agricultural sector. The main cotton-growing region will be Odesa, and the trial cultivation will allow for the evaluation of crop yields, potential pest issues, and economic viability.
