The article reports on extensive damage to fruit and berry plantations across Poland and the Netherlands due to severe frost. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy of the Netherlands and Polish authorities in Wielkopolska and Lublin have confirmed damage to plantations of blueberries, strawberries, cherries, raspberries, mini-kiwis, and fruit trees like cherries, currants, and gooseberries. In some areas, 100% of the harvest has been destroyed. The high disease pressure and the need for additional protection have led to the decision not to use harvesters on many plantations. The Polish Ministry of Agriculture is offering support and seeking interventions, including subsidies, tax restrictions, and cheap loans, from the European Commission.
