Frozen mackerel imports to South Korea fell 16% in March

Import unit prices increased as import volumes fell, resulting in an average frozen mackerel import unit price of US$2.23 per kg in March 2024, up 5% from US$2.12 per kg in March 2023 of the year. Norway accounted for 89.6% of total imports, amounting to 14,746 tons, and the average unit price of Norwegian imports was US$2.22 per kg, up 1% from US$2.19 per kg in the same period 2023. China's share was 7.3% (1,153 tonnes) and the average import price was US$2.31 per kg. About 500 tons were imported from the Netherlands and the average import price was US$2.11 per kg.
