Frozen strawberries from Egypt are much more expensive than last year and very good

For several years, the prices of frozen strawberries from Egypt have been the main factor in creating purchase prices and demand for strawberries for processing in Poland. Therefore, the more expensive they are, the better for domestic growers. We have good and important news for strawberry producers. Both industrial and dessert ones. Frozen strawberries from Egypt were the most expensive in two years in January. At the beginning of the year, a kilogram cost an average of almost PLN 6.00. The attached chart shows an overview of average monthly prices in the last year. In May and June 2024, recipients in Poland bought frozen Egyptian strawberries for less than PLN 5.00/kg with transport. In January 2025, the product cost almost 40% more. It is worth noting that prices are highly seasonal, but everything indicates that even if frozen products are cheaper in May, it will not be at the level from last year.
