China: Fujian cultivates a new variety of white-fleshed loquat, with a single fruit weighing over 70 grams

According to Fujian Daily, recently, a new medium-ripening, high-quality, large-fruited white-flesh hybrid loquat variety cultivated by the Fruit Tree Research Institute of Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences passed the review of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences. White-fleshed loquat is a unique germplasm resource of loquat in my country. At present, there is still a lack of new varieties of white-fleshed loquat with high quality, large fruit, and medium maturity. The emergence of "Zhongbai" makes up for this gap. The medium-white variety has a single fruit weight of 71.2 grams, a soluble solid content of 13.3%, tender meat, slag, juicy, easy to peel, sweet and refreshing, good flavor, and an edible rate as high as 73.8%.
