Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province's representative livestock brand, Gangwon Hanwoo (designated by Representative Ji Jeong-min), has established a foothold for entering the Middle East market by exporting Hanwoo beef to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the largest volume domestically. Gangwon Hanwoo held the "2025 UAE Halal Hanwoo Export Loading Ceremony" on October 30 in the main conference room of the National Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives headquarters. The event was attended by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the National Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives Economic Corporation, participating livestock cooperatives, and overseas buyers, who celebrated the start of exports. This export was in response to a request from a major retailer in the UAE, and a total of 800 kg of export contracts for grilling and butchery parts such as sirloin, chuck end, and brisket were concluded. Among these, the first shipment is 400 kg.
