The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Agricultural Technology Institute held a '2026 Heat Illness Prevention Officer Competency Enhancement Training' at the Hoengseong County Agricultural Technology Center on the 16th. During the training, they covered heat wave response measures, heat illness prevention guidelines, and CPR training for handling emergencies. The heat illness prevention officers are composed mainly of leading farmers (agricultural organizations, etc.) from 12 cities and counties. During the heat wave period (June to August), they provide heat illness prevention guidelines to vulnerable groups such as elderly farmers in the agricultural fields and carry out on-site safety management activities. Park Mi-jin, Director of the Rural Resources Division at the Agricultural Technology Institute, said, "We will systematically carry out heat illness prevention activities for elderly farmers and other vulnerable agricultural workers during the summer by strengthening the on-site response capabilities of the prevention officers."
