The Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) has started the initial planting of mangroves in Sabuai Village, Kumai District, West Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan, in collaboration with the Mangrove Forest Farmers Group. This is a part of an agreement with several ministries and GAPKI to rehabilitate mangroves across several locations. The planting is expected to help address the challenges faced by the village due to erosion. GAPKI plans to rehabilitate 50 hectares of mangroves in the area, which is expected to become an economic source and provide benefits such as reducing the effect of erosion and waves.
