Refrigerated deliveries for the Gdo are becoming a differentiating element, especially in urban contexts. Between limited access to internal combustion vehicles, the increase in food delivery, and the spread of electric vehicles, maintaining the cold chain in the last mile requires different solutions compared to traditional systems. It is in this scenario that Siad has developed Coool FreeToGo, a technology for refrigerated transport by road based on the use of CO2 R-744 as a natural refrigerant. How Coool FreeToGo works The system exploits the refrigerating power of liquid CO2 stored on board the vehicle. When the internal temperature rises, the refrigerant is sent to a heat exchanger that cools the air in the cargo area. The CO2 does not enter directly into the space intended for the goods, but is expelled outside the vehicle at the end of the cycle.
