In the first 10 months of 2024, Georgia saw a significant increase in avocado imports, totaling 1,471 tons worth $3.4 million, a 12.2% rise in volume and $1.2 million more in spending compared to the previous year. The Netherlands emerged as the leading supplier, contributing 591 tons valued at $2 million, followed by Turkey, the UAE, Kenya, and Peru. Georgia also exported 259.6 tons of avocados to Armenia for $635 thousand. The introduction of the Moroccan Hass avocado into the Georgian market has influenced the pricing of Turkish avocados.
