The average number of cows per farm in Germany is 74.2. The largest decrease was observed in farms with 10 to 49 dairy cows, although the number of farms with 200 cows or more has also shrunk. The rate of decline varies greatly across different states, with Saarland experiencing the largest decrease at 6.7 percent and Baden-Württemberg experiencing the smallest decrease at 1.6 percent.
