Germany's top fruit companies are facing a significant decrease in cherry harvest due to late frosts, heavy rainfall, and severe weather conditions. The total cherry harvest was 27,300 tons, a 16.4% decrease compared to the ten-year average, and a 23.2% decrease from the previous year. The pear harvest is also expected to be slightly below average, with an estimated 38,700 tons, which is 1.4% smaller than last year and 2.1% smaller than the ten-year average. Baden-Württemberg is the largest state for cherry cultivation in Germany, and the definitive estimate of the pear harvest will occur in November.
