Germany is set to be recognized as 'foot and mouth disease free without vaccination' by the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), marking a milestone in disease control. This achievement, achieved through a thorough process involving comprehensive reports from the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, affected federal states, the Friedrich Loeffler Institute, and the EU, highlights Germany's success in eradicating the disease. In contrast, Hungary is grappling with an outbreak of foot and mouth disease, despite efforts by Polish services to curb the spread. The All-Poland Agreement of Veterinary Surgeons has stepped in to offer practical recommendations to tackle the disease, underscoring the ongoing challenge it poses.
