A market study conducted by the Global Business and Economics Research Center of the CIEN-ADEX Exporters Association, in collaboration with SIPPO and Globally Cool, has identified potential commercial opportunities for Peruvian functional foods in Germany. The research focuses on value-added foods based on ginger, cocoa, maca, quinoa, and turmeric, ingredients that provide additional health benefits. The study highlights a growing trend towards functional foods among German consumers, with 61% of the population engaging in weekly exercise and 45% consuming supplements. It also notes that Peru has a strong position as a supplier of these functional foods to Germany but emphasizes the importance of organic production regulations in the European Union for exporting organic products.
