In 2021/22, the Netherlands was by far the largest destination for rapeseed oil from Germany, with nearly 600,000 tonnes, which acts as a central hub for world trade in the commodity. In the previous season, however, the amount was 25% more. Belgium ranks second with 86,500 tonnes, around 17% less than in 2020/21. It is followed by France, Denmark and Poland as important destinations. These countries received significantly more rapeseed oil than the previous year. France bought around 65,000 tonnes (+18%) and thus remained a priority sales market, with around 64,600 tonnes (+12%) going to Denmark. However, the most significant increase was recorded in deliveries to Poland: with 58,000 tons, the volume of the previous year more than doubled. Switzerland, Austria, Lithuania, Greece and the Czech Republic also received significantly more than in 2020/21, while less was delivered to Italy, Portugal and Ireland.
