The German Federal Council (Bundesrat) approved on September 26, by majority, a resolution to increase the level of protection for livestock during their transport to countries outside the European Union. The chamber of the federal states has urged the federal government to push for the necessary changes in community regulations in Brussels to guarantee greater animal welfare guarantees.
