Ghana: Komenda Sugar Factory expected to become operational by the end of 2026

The proactive funding of agricultural land is expected to address one of the key bottlenecks that have hindered the factory's sustainability in the past. Established in 1964, the Komenda Sugar Factory has faced numerous technical and operational obstacles over the decades, leading to repeated closures and prolonged shutdowns, despite previous restoration efforts. In August of this year, an Interim Management Committee was established to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the factory's assets, review financial and commercial feasibility, and examine the necessary sugarcane supply chain to ensure continuous production.
