Ten tons of seaweed by-products from Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, South Korea, have been exported to Japan in accordance with a $6 million agreement signed in March with Robson Co., Ltd. The by-products, which include roots and stems, will be used by Robson Co., Ltd. as raw materials for eco-friendly lunch boxes. The export is significant as it increases income for fishermen, uses eco-friendly resources, and aids in marine environment conservation. It is part of Goheung County's strategy to add value to fishing households and explore new markets by leveraging its abundant marine products.
