Goiás expands use of corn for ethanol

According to the November edition of the Agro em Dados report, prepared by the State Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Seapa), the Brazilian 2025/26 corn crop is expected to see an increase in area for the first and second seasons, estimated at 6.1% and 3.8%, respectively. For Goiás, Seapa stated that "an increase in area is expected only in the second season." The state production remains concentrated in the south, with highlights in Rio Verde, Jataí, Mineiros, and Montividiu. In the second crop, this region accounts for 82.1% of the harvested volume. The agency reported that the planting of the first crop started late, stating that sowing "reached 1.0% by the week of October 25," below the 10.0% recorded last year and the average of the last five years.
