Goiás has 19 certified farms to supply pig breeders throughout Brazil

The state of Goiás currently has 19 Certified Swine Breeding Farms (GRSC), establishments that follow strict biosafety and health control standards, ensuring the genetic quality and health of the swine breeders. These locations are certified every six months by the Goiás Agricultural Defense Agency (Agrodefesa), which is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the practices adopted, consolidating these farms as a reference in the national production chain, especially with regard to the genetics of the animals and the biosafety measures implemented to protect the herd. The sale and/or distribution of pigs for breeding is only permitted when the animals come from certified farms, as part of the Integrated Swine Surveillance Plan, an initiative aimed at health control, protecting the swine industry and strengthening the economy.
