The agricultural organization ASAJA Murcia has reported a good start to the Fino lemon campaign due to high quality and swift sales. However, they have called for the European Union to implement tariff measures to protect from the influx of citrus fruits from third countries, such as Turkey and Morocco, which are harming Spanish citrus fruits in European markets. They have also stressed the importance of South Africa complying with the cold treatment approved by the EU to prevent pests and diseases. Additionally, they have suggested the need for innovation, quality controls, and phytosanitary inspections in the lemon sector, and the promotion of lemon internationalization in markets like Asia, the United States, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates.
