In a significant move to bolster its state reserves and support the economy, the Government of Tajikistan has approved a decree for 2024, allowing the importation of essential goods such as food products, mineral fertilizers, diesel fuel, and gasoline under preferential terms. This initiative includes substantial tax and customs duty exemptions, notably a 50% reduction in VAT and excise taxes, along with a complete waiver of customs duties on specified maximum volumes of key commodities like wheat, sugar, flour, vegetable oil, rice, and fuel products. This policy is an expansion of the tax and customs benefits, growing from 14 to 17 points as outlined in the 2024 state budget law, aimed at enhancing the country's economic stability and food security.
