Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has unveiled plans to enhance the state's agricultural sector by developing rural roads to ease the transportation of farm produce to urban markets. A key initiative includes transforming the Okuku market in Yala LGA into an international commodity hub, aimed at improving the sale of local farm produce. The governor stressed the significance of agriculture to the state's economy and sought the support of traditional leaders to foster peace and agricultural growth. The Paramount Ruler of Yala LGA outlined the community's infrastructure needs, which encompass improved road access, potable water, market upgrades, an irrigation dam, and the exploration of local salt deposits, to further support these development goals.
