REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Coordinating Minister for Food Crops Zulkifli Hasan announced that Bulog will borrow a milling factory owned by Wilmar to produce special rice for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims. This step is taken to ensure that the rice sent to Saudi Arabia meets international premium standards. Zulkifli explained that the rice being prepared is from Bulog's SPHP rice which will be reprocessed using modern milling facilities. The use of Wilmar's factory is done after obtaining permission from law enforcement authorities. “Oh, it is SPHP rice, but it is processed. There is a factory sealed by the Polri, owned by Wilmar. We borrow it. Ready to borrow, Bulog borrows it to process it so that the production is first-class premium,” said the figure affectionately known as Zulhas, in Jakarta, Monday (9/2/2026).
