Government contract is significant for rice exports

According to Vietnam Customs, since the Philippines temporarily suspended rice imports from September 1, 2025, Vietnam's rice exports have decreased significantly. In September, the amount of rice exported was 467 thousand tons, nearly halved compared to August and also nearly halved compared to September 2024. In the first half of October, rice exports reached 201 thousand tons, a sharp decrease from the 379 thousand tons of the first half of October 2024.
