The Peruvian government has signed a phytosanitary protocol with New Zealand, enabling the export of fresh citrus fruits from Peru to New Zealand. This agreement, signed by Senasa and the Ministry of Primary Industries of New Zealand, allows producers from several regions in Peru to export to this market for the first time this year. Midagri, the Peruvian government agency overseeing the agreement, highlighted the importance of diversifying markets for Peruvian products and mentioned ongoing efforts to meet phytosanitary requirements for other products like blueberries. This is part of Peru's strategy to strengthen its position as a major agricultural exporter, with a goal of surpassing $11.5 billion in agricultural export sales.
