Argentina's Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, has introduced a program to ensure a sufficient beef supply and reduce prices amidst high inflation. The program will offer a 30% price reduction for seven popular beef cuts from February 17 to March 31. The government has agreed to provide 18,000 tons of beef, which is 25% of the country's monthly consumption, and consumers who pay with a debit card will receive up to a 35% reimbursement. This initiative is part of the government's 'Fair Prices' program, aimed at stabilizing the prices of at least 50,000 products in response to the 94.8% year-on-year price index increase in 2022, the highest in 32 years.
